Governor Timothy Kaine and First Lady Anne Holton hosted their last official reception in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month last week at the Governor’s Mansion. Four members of VALHEN’s Board of Directors were there and a token gift was presented to the Governor in appreciation for his support of the organization during his tenure.
Special thanks go to Sindy Benavides (past Latino Liaison and now Director of Outreach for the DNC); Assistant Secretary of Education, Douglas Garcia; and the current Latino Liaison, Luisa Soaterna, for making arrangements with the Governor’s Office for VALHEN’s presentation.
