LECTURE FUNDING/ CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Virginia Latinos Higher Education Network (VALHEN) invites Virginia colleges and universities to submit proposed speakers for the 2011-2012 VALHEN Lecture Series. VALHEN is the only state-wide, non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization serving as a networking structure to support, promote, and advocate for Latino success and advancement in higher education for the benefit and betterment of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    Richmond, VA – March 2, 2010 – One deserving first-year student from George Mason University has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Virginia Latino Higher Education Network (VALHEN) scholarship in the amount of $500.

    The VALHEN Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the first recipient, Mirella Saldaña-Moreno. The award will be presented to Miss Saldaña-Moreno over a lunch during the 2010 Encuentro at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia on Friday, March 12.
